Echoes of Gilded Age return with their authentic WWI re-enactment camp with soldiers and supporting cast in full character and dress. Talks and dramatical presentations plus the popular ‘Kiddie-drill’ marching sessions.

The 1884 twin James Watt Beam Engines are in full steam this weekend, along with the Galloway Boiler, Robey Winding Engine, miniature working steam engines and passenger carrying railway, landscaped gardens and woodland play area, picnic area, café and gift shop.  Free Parking opposite the station.

Come along and see the amazing 1879 underground reservoir with its Cathedral style ceilings.  Regular trips to the reservoir throughout the day.  (Weather permitting)

Experience Steam Day: May 26th – Try your hand at firing one of the Lancashire Boilers and operating the mighty Beam engine as part of a carefully supervised group.  Advanced bookings only.

Located in the north of the Borough between Burntstump Hill and Longdale Lane, Ravenshead.  Papplewick Pumping Station is Britain’s finest and most ornate working Victorian water pumping station.
