Non-Domestic Rates, or Business Rates, collected by local authorities are the way that those who occupy non-domestic property contribute towards the cost of local services.

There are a number of reliefs available that could reduce the amount of Business Rates you have to pay.
Police, fire and local council services are paid for by Council Tax and Government Grants, and in some cases, through charges for services.
